Arellano, San Beda spikers stake clean records

December 12, 2018

DEFENDING champion Arellano University and San Beda stake their perfect records against separate foes today in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Lady Chiefs play struggling Lyceum of the Philippines University at 2 p.m., while the Lady Red Spikers tangle with dangerous Jose Rizal University at 12 noon.

Sporting identical 4-0 slates,Arellano and San Beda can’t seem to separate each other, as the last season’s finalists continue to dominate the 10-team field.

While the Lady Chiefs are tipped to prevail over the Lady Pirates, this cannot be said on the Lady Red Spikers, as the Lady Bombers have recovered from a 0-2 start by winning back-to-back games.

JRU has slowly moved on without last season’s MVP Shola Alvarez as it defeated Letran and Mapua in succession to tie University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in fifth place at 2-2.

Arellano and San Beda are thriving because of their unlikely leading scorers in last season’s top rookie Necole Ebuen and do-it-all Nieza Viray.
