A PREGNANT pedestrian was seriously injured when a 10mm steel bar pierced her right shoulder Saturday afternoon in Pasay City.
Angela Iman, Crirence, 20, of 225 Commandante Garcia St. Park Avenue, Brgy. 88 was rushed by the Pasay City Rescue Team to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) where she underwent surgery. She has been declared out of danger.
Police investigation showed that construction worker Hermes Gacer, 22 was soldering a steel bar at the rooftop of a building of thr Jose Rizal Elementary School located along Commandante Garcia St. at around 1 p.m. when the 10mm steel bar measuring about six feet he was holding accidentally slipped from his hand and pierced the victim’s right shoulder who was then seated on a parked electric bike.
Pasay police arrested Gacer who was later presented for inquest proceeding before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office on charges of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injury.
