Street sweeper runs amuck, stabs neighbor in Makati

A 36-YEAR-OLD street sweeper who ran amuck while armed with a knife and gun replica was arrested by responding barangay officials after he stabbed and wounded his neighbor Friday evening in Makati city.

Marlito Macawile, of 1657 Dian St., Bgy. San Isidro, was under the influence of liquor when he went outside his house at around 10:15 a.m. while holding a gun replica and kitchen knife and challenged anyone to a fight for still unknown reasons.

When no one accepted his challenge, he went into his neighbor’s house and stabbed Dennis Cordero, legal age, hitting him in the chest and left arm.

Makati City Pabakuna

Responding San Isidro Bantay Bayan composed of Lucito Gamat and Isagani Perin responded to the scene and arrested Macawile while Cordero was rushed by relatives to Ospital ng Makati for medical treatment.

The suspect was turned over by barangay officials to the Crimes Against Person Unit of Makati Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) for proper investigation and filing of frustrated homicide and violation of R.A 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act.
