FOR allegedly stealing a gadget from a fellow student with whom he had an ‘eyeball’ in the victim’s condominium unit in Malate, Manila, a 23-year-old male student was arrested by operatives from the Manila Police District.
In his complaint, victim Luis, 19, a resident of Torre Lorenzo Condominium located at No. 994, P. Ocampo Street, Brgy 728, Malate, Manila, claimed that he only learned that he had been robbed when the suspect, identified only as Nimuel, of Estrada Street, Casa Rosa, Malate, Manila, posted as up for sale on ‘Facebook Market’ his camera, a Canon Power Shot V10, with serial No. 291022000104 and worth P25,000.
Reportedly, the victim and the suspect met through a dating app called ‘GRINDR”. They agreed to have an ‘eyaball’ or meet personally so that the suspect went to the victim’s condominium unit on February 22, 2026.
However, when the suspect left, the victim noticed that his gadget was already missing only to discover days later that the suspect was selling his camera via Facebook market.
The victim sought police assistance and with his friend posing as a buyer, the suspect was arrested during an entrapment operation laid out by the Manila Police District -Station 9, wherein his gadget was recovered.
The victim refused to press charges after having been able to recover his camera, police said.
