SUV goes wayward in NAIA 1

FOR still unclear reason, a Ford sports utility vehicle went from being parked to running full speed ahead at the NAIA Terminal 1’s departure area, hitting passengers and well-wishers, leaving two dead, including a five-year-old girl and four more injured.

The girl, along with the other fatality, a 29-year-old man, reportedly died on the spot while those who were injured were rushed to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, which included the girl’s mother and grandmother from her father’s side.

The driver of the said vehicle was held in custody by authorities who are investigating the incident while his vehicle had been removed from the area.

The names of the victims are yet to be officially released by authorities, although some social media posts already revealed their identified.

Reportedly, the girl, her mother and grandmother were at the NAIA to send off the girl’s father who was bound for Europe as an overseas Filipino worker.

Investigation is also underway as to how the vehicle got through the steel barriers in place.
