Taiwanese and Pinoy nabbed for kidnap of Chinese

A Taiwanese national and a Filipino said to be involved in the abduction of a Chinese national was arrested by joint operatives from the Manila Police District (MPD), Pasay City Police and Paranaque Police during an operation the other day at the Gatchalian Subdivision in Las Piñas City.

Now detained at the MPD Custodial facility are suspects Rex Chong Sheng Wue, 27 ,Taiwanese, translator and residing at #420, Sta. Monica St., Parañaque City and Reynald.Salvares Abian, 24, motorcycle rider, of #127 Diamond St., Bernabe Phase 3, Brgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

PLtCol. John Guiagui, chief of the MPD-District Intelligence Division, said that the victim, identified as Shero Zhou, 41, Chinese national and residing at Unit 1015, Gold Mine Tower, P. Ocampo St., Brgy. 719, Malate, Manila, was last seen on April 17, 2025.

On April 20, 2025, the victim was released near Starbucks at SM Sucat,Paranaque City after his relatives paid the ransom.

The victim proceeded to the police to file a complaint and after a thorough investigation, the suspecdt was nabbed at 6:20 p.m. on Leveriza Street in Brgy. 19, Pasay City.

Meantime, the suspects will be charged with violation of Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code or kidnapping with serious illegal detention before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
