Teener nabbed for hot gun

TABUK City, Kalinga — Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) Chief information Officer, PCpt. Marnie D. Abellanida reported yesterday that a19-year old teenager was taken into custody for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act after being caught in possession of an unregistered firearm on Tuesday.

Abellanida said, according to the Kalinga Provincial Director, PCol. Davy Vicente M. Limmong, a group of young men were seen drinking liquor along Canao Bridge, Calanan, during a mobile patrol which prompted the police to ask why they were outside their residence when the city is under MGCQ.

Abellanida said one Jolo V. Bumatnong of Bantay, Tabuk City became uneasy and was about to run but the responding personnel prevented him, which resulted in the recovery of an Armscor Cal. 45 pistol with magazine loaded with three live ammunition in his possession.

The suspect was arrested after failing to show pertinent documents for said firearm. He was brought to the Tabuk City Police Station along with the confiscated firearm for proper disposition.
