Thai national found dead in Manila Bay

A Thai national was found dead and floating on Wednesday night along the Manila Bay seawall in Ermita, Manila.

The Royal Thai Embassy identified the victim as Chakhon Khumphaitun, 24, a native of Bangkok, Thailand and staying at the Royal Thai Embassy located at No. 107 Rada St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.

PCMS Dennis Suba of the Manila Police District -homicide section said that the victim’s sling bag containing his passport and personal items was first found at around 7 a.m. and have been turned over to the Royal Thai Embassy when his body was later discovered at 4:30 p.m.

The Embassy confirmed that the passport found belonged to the victim. No injuries or wounds were found on the victim whose gold necklace was also turned over to the authorities.
