Top CV drug trafficker killed in shootout

A TOP drug trafficker in Central Visayas was killed in a gunfight which marred the conduct of a police buy-bust in Lapu-Lapu City past 10 p.m. Monday, a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Debold M. Sinas said.

Suspect Mario Baylosis, a 43-year old resident of Sitio Kalapukan, Bgy. Carreta, Cebu City exchanged fire with undercover officers in Sitio Afro, Bgy. Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City and was killed in the process, the Police Regional Office 7 ( PRO7) said.

Tagged as the 10th most wanted drug dealer in the region, the slain suspect yielded a bag containing 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets with a total weight of 500 grams worth around P3.4 million, the marked money topped by three marked P500 bills paid to him by a poseur and a caliber .38 revolver with several live ammunition.

Members of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office led by Major Joey Bicoy and Captain Mikhail Mallorca conducted the anti-narcotics operation with the support of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
