A TRICYCLE driver miraculously survived after a lone gunman shot him repeatedly in the face at close range Tuesday evening in Malabon City.
“Parang may sa pusa, siyam yata ang buhay,” Malabon police homicide investigator P/MSgt. Julius Mabasa said in an interview over the phone after he visited Albert Micabalo, 27 of 21 Atis Road, Brgy. Potrero at the Manila Central University (MCU) Hospital where he was rushed by his live-in partner Shella Manjares, for treatment of bullet wounds in the face.
Mabasa said the victim and his live-in partner were inside their abode at around 8:30 p.m. when an unidentified gunman, wearing black t-shirt, bull cap and face mask forcibly barged inside and without a word shot Micabalo repeatedly in the face then fled towards unknown direction.
Manjares and Micabalo’s parents and relatives told Mabasa and P/SSgt. Ernie Baroy that the victim had no known enemies and they had no idea who is behind the attack.
Mabasa said he was able to talk to the victim before he undergone surgery and told him that the only person he had fought was a woman in their barangay who spread slander and defamatory words against his live-in partner.
Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said the victim had no criminal record or involvement in drugs and other illegal activities.Publication Source : People's Tonight
