Two men nabbed for stealing electrical wires owned by Manila City government

Two men were arrested by the Manila Police District -Special Mayors Reaction Team (SMaRT) headed by PMajor Edward Samonte after they were caught in the act of cutting electric wires owned by the local government, at the Center Island of Taft Avenue between Pedro Gil and Malvar Streets in Malate, Manila the other night.

Samonte identified the suspects as Octhu-Art Culaban alias Alvin,34 , construction worker, of No. 72 Insurance St., Project 8, Quezon City and Jeffrey Ocampo, 29, of 1628 A. Linao St., Paco, Maynila.

According to Samonte, Romeo Sta Ines,50; at Junly Relly,31,both electricians of the Manila City Hall, were aboard their service vehicle when they saw the suspects in the act of cutting the said wires at around 9:40 p.m.

They accosted the suspects ahd brought them to the SMaRT which found in their possession stranded electrical wires and pliers.

The two were charged with theft or violation of Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
