Ulysses floods parts of Palace

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte’s official residence in Malacañan Palace was not spared from flooding brought by Typhoon Ulysses.

In a Laging Handa public briefing, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said an area near the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañan was submerged in water after the typhoon caused rains that caused the Pasig River to overflow.

Yung likod po ng kanyang bahay ay umapaw na rin po ang Pasig River kung saan siya nagmimi-meeting kanina, sobrang lakas po. Hopefully, palabas na ang bagyo at tumigil na ang ulan,” Go said.

He shared to reporters photos of the Malago Clubhouse after it experienced mild flooding.

Despite the flooding, Go assured that the President continues to monitor the calamity situation and even temporarily left the ongoing 37th Asean Summit to check on the situation on the ground.

Nag-a-attend si Pangulo sa Asean Summit. Umalis siya, pagkatapos nga magbigay ng intervention dun sa Asean ay umalis siya to address the nation at nakamonitor ang Pangulo sa lahat ng pangyayari,” he said. Philippine News Agency
