What quickly caused Andrea-Derek shattered romance

Derek Ramsay and Andrea Torres

LOOKS like there’s truth to the scuttlebutt that Andrea Torres and Derek Ramsay have called it quits. They admitted they were going steady in September of last year, so if they’ve really split up, that can only mean that their relationship lasted only for only a little over a year.

The rumor seems true because if it were not, with all the questions from the public about it, it’s so easy to deny the story, but they’re not denying it at all, so the answer is pretty obvious. How sad because, prior to this, Andrea is already often seen in Derek’s newly completed home and they’ve already been talking about facing the altar.

Now, Andrea has unfollowed Derek’s social media account and also erased all their photos together from her own Instagram account, as if she wants to get rid of all the memories that will remind her of the romance with him that bloomed while they were taping the series “The Better Woman”. As for Derek, he has not unfollowed Andrea, but he has also erased all their photos.

This is obviously something very recent as they are still together in the Kapuso Network Christmas Station ID that GM has just started showing! It’s not yet clear what caused the breakup but someone says it could be because Andrea accepted the offer of GMA to be the replacement of Megan Young as the second wife of Dennis Trillo in “Legal Wives” when the two of them are supposed to be paired anew in a series titled “Sanggang Dikit”.

On top of this, Andrea will be taping “Legal Wives” in a distant location on a lock in basis and that means she will be gone for three long weeks. Is it true Derek is against this but Andrea is adamant in accepting her role as she really wants to go back to work and also to get the chance to work with Dennis Trillo?

Well, sooner or later, we’re sure the truth will come out, but then, we couldn’t help but say “sayang naman”, since they seemed so serious and sincere when they were professing their love for each other on camera just a couple of weeks ago in the show “Mars Pa More”.

They even have their own common youtube vlog called AnDrek Vlogs where they post their latest stories. Itt has already gained about 300 thousand of faithful subscribers.

Derek has even declared on cam that he’s certain that Andrea is the type of woman he wants to bring to the altar. And also, both their respective families have met each other and expressed their warm approval of the relationship. That’s why so many quarters are now hoping against hope that they will still be able to patch things up, thresh things out, save their relationship, and reconcile eventually.

“Babae at Baril”, which Cignal produced and which has previously won many awards in last year’s QCinema Filmfest, won the most number of honors from the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino that night.

The bountiful harvest include the best picture prize, best actress for Janine Gutierrez as an oppressed mall salesgirl who is empowered by the possession of a gun, best director for Rae Red, best cinematography for Tey Clamor, best editing for Ilsa Maisi and best production design for Eero Yves Francisco. Cignal talents Elijah Canlas and Jun Lana also took home trophies from the Urian. Last August, he also won as best actor in the 17th Asian International Filmfest in Rome, Italy for the same role and movie.

This artistic recognition comes after he won commercial success for the BL web series, “Gameboys”, which made him gain millions of fans. Elijah will next be seen in Cignal and TV5’s special Christmas presentation, “Paano ang Pasko”, that starts airing on Monday, November 23.

Internationally-acclaimed writer and director Jun Lana (who has won honors abroad for “Bwakaw”, “Mga Kuwentong Barbero” and “Anino sa Likod ng Buwan”) won the recent Urian’s best screenplay award for “Kalel, 15”. He also won the Jury Prize for Best Director award at the 23rd Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) held in Estonia for “Kalel, 15” which will be shown streaming on Netflix starting December 9. Now, Lana also writes the script of “Paano ang Pasko” and is one of the Christmaserye’s four directors. The others are Ricky Davao, Eric Quizon and Percival Intalan.
