UP workers pledge support to Laguna police peace drive

Camp BGen Paciano Rizal – The Laguna Police Provincial Office and the UP workers union officials held a meeting to promote a harmonious relationship among UPLB workers and students as well as the PNP.

The meeting was held at Camp Paciano Rizal in Sta Cruz, Laguna, under the leadership of Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II and participated in by Alexis M. Mejia, President, UP National Chapter , Antonio J. Salcedo, President, UP Los Baños Chapter, and Misael T. Palanginan, Vice President, UP Los Baños Chapter on community safety programs.

Tackled were the promotion of a harmonious relationship among UPLB workers, students, academe, UP Community and PNP, assessment of the real concerns of all parties and planning for possible solutions, and planning of joint environmental activities in the Mount Makiling forest reserve to include tree planting activity with the UPLB Officials, UP workers union members, students and the PNP.

The highlight of the meeting was the pledge of support and cooperation of the Institution (represented by the said officers) to the Laguna PPO in its campaign to promote peace and order as well as provide internal security operations in relation to the E.O. 70 National Task Force to End Local Communist (NTF-ELCAC).

The E.O. 70 is the multi-pronged approach of tje government to end insurgency.

Petalio II said ne looks forward to a more dynamic support and cooperation of the UP in this endeavor.
