Updates on foreign travel rules issued

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that some countries in Asia and the Pacific and Europe have released new updates on their travel restrictions.

Transit to Japan is now being allowed but subject to medical protocols and procedures, the update said. However, in general, inbound border restriction is still being implemented in Japan.

Similarly, those who are exempt from entry restrictions imposed by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russia are now subject to strict medical protocols such as presentation of negative COVID-19 test result, mandatory screenings, among others.

Ukraine has opened its borders to travelers, including Filipinos, subject to flight availability and medical protocols.

The DFA continues to remind the public that information on travel restrictions is subject to change without prior and sufficient public notice.

Thus, the DFA advised travelers to always check ahead of travel dates with airlines, as well as with relevant Embassies or Consulates before booking a ticket and before departure.
