USAID supports Brigada Eskwela 2024

Learning Packages for DepEd GenSan
The Schools Division of General Santos City receive ABC+’s support for the Brigada Eskwela at Changco Elementary School. Other stakeholders who provided materials for school maintenance and repair were also present. USAID ABC+ is represented by Mr. Luisito Gelmo, Regional Manager.

USAID remains committed to education by supporting the Department of Education (DepEd) Brigada Eskwela 2024. USAID, through ABC+: Advancing Basic Education in the Philippines project, has distributed over 110,000 learning packages to schools across various DepEd divisions in regions of Cordillera Administrative Region and SOCCSKSARGEN. This effort included providing 11,848 Early Grade Reading Materials (EGRMs) to the DepEd Schools Division of Baguio City, and 98,387 EGRMs to the DepEd schools divisions of General Santos City, South Cotabato, and Sarangani.

These learning packages which include decodable and leveled reader books in Tagalog, Filipino, and English, as well as listening texts and big books, are essential learning materials for Kinder to Grade 3 learners. They have been distributed to all schools in the mentioned divisions, ensuring that learning resources are readily available as classes resume on July 29.

In addition, DepEd Region V – Bicol received 1,183 EGRMs and 8 laptops as part of USAID’s technical support to schools.

Learning Packages for DepEd Baguio City
Division officials from DepEd Baguio City receive the Early Grade Reading Materials (EGRMs) from USAID ABC+. USAID continues to support DepEd Philippines in strengthening early grade education by ensuring that schools are prepared for upcoming classes and that Filipino learners have access to quality resources as they return to school.
