Vaccination rollout starts in Batangas

BATANGAS Capitol, Batangas — The Provincial Health Office spearheaded the vaccination rollout against COVID-19 for medical frontliners of the Batangas provincial government at the Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery on March 10, 2021.

At least 193 medical workers including doctors, nurses, and medical personnel lined up to be vaccinated. The vaccines were turnee over to Dr. Jose Jessie Villanueva, chief of Batangas Provincial Hospital, which is the first provincial government hospital to receive Astra Zeneca and Sinovac vaccines.

In a message, Dr. Rosvilinda Ozaeta, Provincial Health Officer and Batangas Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Co-Chairperson, encouraged every Batangueño to unite and sign up to get vaccinated.

If we love ourselves, we should love our housemates more. We need protection because the virus is still there, COVID19,” said Ozaeta.

Lemery Mayor Larry Alilio thanked the provincial government led by Governor DoDo Mandanas for the arrival of the vaccine in their town.

Alilio added that the vaccination is not mandatory.

Also present at the vaccination rollout were IATF Incident Commander, Dr. Gerald Alday, Vice Governor Mark Leviste, and 2nd District Board Member Arlene Magboo.
