VM Yul, Councilor Uno, get awards for promoting China-RP relations

MANILA Vice Mayor and Council Presiding Officer Yul Servo and second district Councilor Uno Lim were awarded for their efforts to promote and strengthen bilateral relations and partnership between China and the Philippines.

In simple ceremonies held at the Manila City Council, Servo and Lim received the plaque of recognition from the Philippines China Association For the Peace and Friendship, Inc. (Qiaoxing Volunteer Group of Philippines) represented by Chairman Jackie Ong.

“The friendship between the Philippine and Chinese people has a long history,” the plaque, which was agreed to be given by the group’s board of directors and officers, stated.

Servo thanked the group for the award, saying it will inspire him to work harder to contribute in the efforts of promoting a better relationship between the two countries.

For his part, Lim said: “Maraming salamat sa natatanging pagkilala sa ating layuning palawigin at palakasin pa ang bilateral relations at partnership ng dalawang mga bansa.”

Lim, who heads the City Council’s committee on international relations, also stated that special focus is being given to tackling issues that involve mutual benefits specially when it comes to the promotion of peace, unity and programs that may redound to the benefit specially of Manila residents.
