Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia announced that 1.4 million registrants were recorded in the voter registration for the December 1, 2025 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Garcia said that up to August 7, the Comelec posted 1,452,060 individuals bidwal na nagparehistro upang makaboto sa nalalapit na halalan.
At the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the lowest number of registrants was recorded at 26,945 only while the Special Registration Anywhere Program (SRAP) sites in Metro Manila recorded only 10,418 voter applications.
Garcia said this is the most successful voter registration recorded in Comelec history, with the biggest number of registrations in so short a span of time.
The ten-day 2025 BSKE was begun on August 1 and will end on August 10.
The Comelec initially said it targets to reach a million voters but later raised the target to 1.5 million after they were able to reach one million in just five days.
