Wanted killer in Manila nabbed in Bulacan

Operatives from the Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMaRT) under the Manila Police District nabbed a ‘most wanted person’ who had been a fugitive from justice due to a crime of murder and attempted murder.

Arrested in Pulilan, Bulacan by a team led by SMaRT chief PMajor Edward Samonte was Rene Boy Golias, alias ‘Rence’, 30, helper, of Helping Complex, Brgy. 105, Tondo, Manila.

Samonte said the suspect was collared at around 5:30 p.m. after a weeklong surveillance on Esguerra Street, Brgy. Longos, Pulilan, Bulacan.

The arrest of Golias, according to Samonte, was pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by Manila RTC Branch 25 Presiding Judge Marlina Manuel dated October 1.

It was learned that no bail was recommended for his murder case but a P72,000 bail was set for his case of attempted murder.

The operation came after Samonte received an intelligence report from the MDIT-RIU-NCR which was followed up with a surveiilance.

The suspect is now detained at the SMaRT office for proper disposition.
