We don’t handle graft cases — CSC chief

CIVIL Service Commission (CSC) Chair Alicia dela Rosa Bala yesterday clarified that all cases pending before the agency involving PhilHealth personnel involve non-corruption issues.

Dela Rosa-Bala appeared at the hearing of the House Committees on Public and on Good Government and Public Accountability on alleged irregularities at the health insurance agency to dispel statements she said have placed the integrity of the constitutional office under question.

Earlier, CSC Commissioner Aileen Lizada said that “there was guidance” from the CSC head to suppress information on the cases filed against PhilHealth officials.

Facing members of the Committees, Chairperson Dela Rosa-Bala denied giving orders to “suppress” the sharing of information regarding cases involving PhilHealth officials and employees.

“I am categorically stating that as the CSC Chairperson, I made no directive, guidance or insinuations for the Commission to suppress information in any case, whether on Philhealth or on any other government agency”, she said.

At the same time, the CSC Chair promised to comply with the committee’s directive to produce the transcript and video recording of the August 11, 2020 Commission meeting where investigation of Philhealth cases was discussed.
