‘Wife-beater’ wanted for robbery, illegal gun

A 24-YEAR-OLD construction worker who was arrested Monday evening in Malabon City for allegedly beating his live-in partner was found to have a pending warrant of arrest for robbery and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in the province of Pampanga.

Robel Busa, of 4th St., Bgy. Tanong was arrested at around 8 p.m. after his live-in partner sought the assistance of police at around 9 a.m. when she was allegedly beaten up by the suspect following their heated altercation.

The suspect was turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) but before he was presented to the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of R,A, 9262 or Violence Against Women and their Children’s Act, his personal records were subjected for verification.

Police later discovered that Busa was facing charges for robbery and violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and had a pending warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mary Jane Dacara Buenaventura of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 143 Third Judicial Region of San Fernando Pampanga.

The suspect failed to present his release order or any documents pertaining to his case which prompted the police to place him behind bar at the custodial facility of Malabon police.
