Woman, 65, killed, boy, 14, hurt in N. Ecija gun attack

ZARAGOSA, Nueva Ecija — A sexagenarian-woman was shot dead inside her store while a 14-year-old boy was wounded when two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects pretended to be customers and fired at them here on Saturday night.

The gun attack occurred at the Benitez Subd. in Bgy. Concepcion at 6:50 p.m.

Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro, provincial police director, identified the fatality as Julie Ramos and the wounded victim as Jonathan Bahala, both of Benitez Subd.

Investigation showed the woman was inside the store when the two helmet-wearing suspects stopped in front and alighted from their motorcycle.

The duo then pretended to buy something from the store and shot the victim several times in different parts of the body, killed her on the spot.

The boy who was at the store was also hit during the attack. He was rushed to a hospital in Cabanatuan City for treatment.

Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered from the crime scene two fired bullet casings for a cal .45, three for cal. 9mm, two deformed fired bullets and two pieces of metal fragments.

Saro said they are still conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident.
