Woman held for ‘fake’ disinfectant service

POLICE arrested in Sta. Ana, Manila last Friday a woman who tried to dupe a businessman into paying for a supposed ‘disinfection service’ that never happened.

Now facing a case of attempted estafa at the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office is suspect Marichu Santos, 39, of No. 770 Panay Street, Brgy. Pitogo, Makati City.

A probe by the MPD- Sta. Ana Station 6 said that complainant Paul Hedeo, 25, of Makati City, was mannng his store, JD’s Patahan at Manukan along P. Gil Street in Sta. Ana when the suspect arrived at 4:45 p.m., demanding payment of P4,480 while presenting a receipt, supposedly for a disinfection service done on his establishment.

Hedeo refused to acknowledge the receipt, saying he never contracted any disinfection service and no such service was ever done in his store.

An argument ensued until Hedeo, with the help of his staff, brought the suspect to the barangay where it was found out that the receipt she was presenting was bogus and that she had no connection whatsoever to the company stated in the receipt.
