{"id":13424,"date":"2021-03-15T14:04:47","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T06:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journal.com.ph\/?p=13424"},"modified":"2021-03-15T14:04:51","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T06:04:51","slug":"dost-mayor-antonio-provide-st-solutions-to-alcala-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journal.com.ph\/dost-mayor-antonio-provide-st-solutions-to-alcala-concerns\/","title":{"rendered":"DOST, Mayor Antonio provide S&#038;T solutions to Alcala concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WITH<\/strong> the influence of science on people\u2019s lives, the Department of Science and Technology Region 02 (DOST R02) hosted a collaborative meeting with Alcala, Cagayan Mayor Christina \u201c<em>Tin<\/em>\u201d Antonio and her team to provide S&amp;T solutions to local priorities and concerns of their municipality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>They say science is not part of the government, but I am so happy to discover that science is the bedrock of governance,<\/em>\u201d Antonio said during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>DOST Region 02 awarded 10 portable solar drying trays and provided a P300,000 grant-in-aind in support to the corn processing center project in Alcala.<\/p>\n<p>Antonio expressed her gratitude to DOST 02 and its regional director for the continuous support to the Alcala S&amp;T activities.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor also presented possible collaborations on research and development in Alcala, assistance in packaging and labeling, review lesReview Lessons for DOST Scholarship program, Bamboo Tissue Culture Laboratory and among others.<\/p>\n<p>To further strengthen the S&amp;T collaboration in the municipality, Dir. Mabborang proposed the establishment of the Municipal Science &amp; Technology Action Group (MSTAG), the S&amp;T policymaking body initiated by DOST R02 for municipalities and cities in Region 02.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was also attended by the three ARDs, Teresita A. Tabaog, Mary Ann Maglasin, Virgina Bilgera, the Provincial Director of Cagayan Engr.
