ALL Roman Catholics and other Christian denominations whose membership observe Easter, were greeted a very happy celebration by the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP).
In a statement, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, deputy spokesman for the PDP, said that as Easter Sunday signifies renewal, the PDP is happy to announce that its all-out drive to renew and strengthen its membership down to the rank-and-file has been met with great success.
“Potential members who have answered to call for political awareness and civic duty have flocked to the numerous Basic Membership Seminars (BMS) in droves, clearly exceeding all expectations, as officers and members, in a spirit of bayanihan, are volunteering their services and resources in the conduct of these seminarsm,” he said.
Topacio added: “We believe it is the realization that the PDP has remained the only genuine opposition, and its consistent and persistent stand against corruption and in favor of the rule of law, among others, that have fuelled this exodus into its ranks.
He also expressed confidence that the trend shall continue. saying the PDP “confidently marches on into the future with hopes of a transformation of our country and government into one that is reflective of our people’s aspirations for transparency, efficiency and accountability in order to propel the Philippines out of the doldrums she is in right now, and achieve greater heights of progress and success as the Filipinos deserve.”
