PBBM, DSWD chief congratulate 4Ps members hired on-the-spot in job fair

Marcos Jr, alongside Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian and other Cabinet secretaries, congratulates the 38 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who were hired on-the- spot at the ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps‘ job fair.

The Chief Executive also checked the booths of companies who offered local and overseas employment opportunities as well as booths of government agencies that provided services to applicants with their employment documents.

The ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps’ job fair was held on Thursday (February 20) at the Lamberto L. Macias Sports and Cultural Complex in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

Some 3,000 beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from the Province of Negros Oriental joined the ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps’ job fair on Thursday (February 20) at the Lamberto L. Macias Sports and Cultural Complex in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, along with other Cabinet secretaries, flew to the province to witness the aid giving and job recruitment event organized by the DSWD, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other key agencies.

In his message, President Marcos said the job fair is a nationwide initiative of the national government to aid 4Ps household-beneficiaries in further improving the quality of their lives.

“Sana itong ating ginagawa ay makatulong na mapaganda ang inyong kabuhayan, magpaganda ng buhay ng inyong pamilya at nang sa ganoong paraan ay mapaganda ang minamahalal nating Pilipinas,” the Chief Executive said.

A total of 2,644 local and overseas job positions were offered by 15 participating companies invited by the DOLE.

President Marcos also congratulated all the 32 beneficiaries who were hired on the spot, as of press time.

Individuals hired on the spot were also assessed by the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) for employment assistance and will undergo evaluation for eligibility under the SLP’s Employment Facilitation Track which helps participants to access appropriate employment opportunities.

The 4Ps beneficiaries also received financial assistance worth Php3,000 each from the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

President Marcos said this activity is a one-stop-shop offering multiple services to the beneficiaries.

“Lagi po nating naririnig, ang ipinatutupad natin na ganong konsepto ay tinatawag na one-stop-shop. Makikita nyo po rito yung mga bibigyan ng tulong, ng AICS ng DSWD ay makakakuha ng suporta na galing sa pamahalaan,” President Marcos said.

The participating 4Ps beneficiaries were from the the municipalities of Amlan; City of Tanjay; Dauin; Dumaguete City; San Jose; Sibulan; Valencia; and Zamboanguita.

The companies which offered employment opportunities to 4Ps job seekers include Gasmate – LPG Retailer and Distributor; Vallacar Transit Incorporated; 1Prime Retail Corporation; SYL Hermanos Trade Center Corporation; Vortex BPO; Yoldi Larena & Ortiz Corporation; iStore Digital Lifestyle Retail; Sans Rival-Food and Beverages; Triple One Human Resource Corporation; Nuat Thai Foot and Body Massage; Qualfon BPO; Uy Matiao Construction; Straive BPO; Cebu General Services Inc.; and Peak Outsourcing BPO.

Local companies offered positions such as accounting clerk; supervisor; cook; baker; human resource associate; customer services representative; driver; civil engineer; electrical technician; company nurse; cleaner; physical therapist; midwife; and graphic artist, among others.

For overseas employment, companies opened positions for cashier, private nurse, barista, general electrician, and physical therapist.

The government agencies that offered services in the job fair include PhilHealth; Pag-Ibig; Social Security System (SSS); Department of Migrant Workers (DMW); Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA); Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA); Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA); National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); Public Employment Service Office (PESO); and Prudential Custom Brokerage Service Inc. (PCBSI).

Kadiwa ng Pangulo booths were also set up, offering affordable basic goods and commodities to the beneficiaries.
