THERE are no more areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 as Typhoon Bising is now moving east of mainland Cagayan, the weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
“Bising” had slowed down at 10 kilometers per hour (kph) and has maintained its strength – -packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph.
TCWS No. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the eastern portion of Apayao (Luna, Santa Marcela, Flora, Pudtol), the eastern portion of Kalinga (Pinukpuk, Rizal), the eastern portion of Isabela (Ilagan, San Mariano, Palanan, Divilacan, Maconacon, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Santa Maria, Delfin Albano, Santo Tomas, Quezon, Quirino, Gamu, Naguilian, Benito Soliven, Reina Mercedes, Mallig, Burgos, Roxas, Cauayan City, Luna, San Manuel, Cabatuan, Aurora, Dinapigue, San Mateo, Alicia, Angadanan, San Guillermo, Echague, Jones, San Agustin, San Isidro), the northeastern portion of Quirino (Maddela), and the northern portion of Aurora (Casiguran, Dilasag).
These areas may expect winds of 30-60 kph in at least 36 hours, or intermittent rains within 36 hours.
The northeasterly wind flow enhanced by “Bising” will continue to cause rough to high seas over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, and rough to very rough seas over the western seaboards of Northern Luzon and the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar.
Moderate to rough seas still prevail over the western seaboard of Central Luzon, the remaining eastern seaboard of Eastern Visayas, and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration forecast “Bising” to gradually weaken and be downgraded to a severe tropical storm category over the weekend. Philippine News Agency
