The Manila Police District-Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (MPD-SMaRT) announced the arrest of a female Chinese national and her Filipino helper for selling fake Thailand motorcycle parts and accessories.
SMaRT chief PMaj Edward Samonte said the suspects were nabbed at Dragon 8 Shopping mall located on Claro M.Recto Avenue corner Dagupan Street in Divisoria, Tondo, Manila.
Now facing a case for violation of Section 155 Trademark Infringement) and Section 168 (Unfair Competition), and R.A. 8293 (Intellectual Property Rights) are Jenifer Ong, 21, Chinese national, secretary of Sky–Light Motorcycle Parts and Accessories Trading Store and residing at 168 Resident, Binondo, Manila; and Mario Sendona, 38,,helper, of 288 Tambakan Street, Caloocan City.
It was learned that the search warrant was based on a complaint lodged by one Wilmar Ramirez, 41, Quality Control Officer/ Intellectual Property Officer of JRP – Thailand Motorcycle Parts and Accessories Store , located at 28- R., Candido Brgy 60 West Grace Park, Caloocan City.
Said search warrant was issued by Presiding Judge Phillip Charles G. Santos of RTC Branch 45, Manila dated November 25.
Confiscated were various motorcycle parts and accessories worth P100,000. (Carl Angelo)
