Munzon, pals ready for Doha Masters

THE Joshua Munzon-led Philippine 3×3 training pool is ready to carry the nation’s capital for the first time in the Doha Masters of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour on Nov. 20-21.

Munzon and company are headed in Qatar, having conquered the recently-concluded Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM in Calamba, Laguna.

With their confidence as high as it has ever been, Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. president and 3×3 patron Ronald Mascariñas felt it was the right time to have Manila printed on the front of their jerseys.

This time, we believed the Philippines should carry Manila, the capital, in international competition,” said Mascariñas during last Monday’s courtesy call with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

We’re confident we’ve gathered the best players that will represent the ideals of every Manileño,” he added.

Now called Manila Chooks TM, the rebranding gave Munzon, Alvin Pasaol, Troy Rike and Santi Santillan a big boost as they continue gearing up for next year’s FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Graz, Austria.

In return, Moreno is just hoping Manila Chooks TM can keep making the Philippines proud.

Maraming-maraming salamat sa inyo. Of course, winning the competition will be better, but we are already grateful you are representing the City of Manila in an international setting,” said Moreno, who also received a 3×3 jersey from Mascariñas.
