Solane raid series confiscated nearly one million worth of counterfeit items anew

LPG raid operations

On October 14, Republic Act No. 11592 or the proposed measure to regulate the domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industry has been signed into law. The new law will set the best practices for all local industry players and ensure that unsafe cylinders will be taken out of circulation to decrease LPG-related explosions and fires.

Expressing its full support for the law, leading LPG solutions provider Solane updates on its countrywide raid operations to help pluck out substandard LPGs in the market.

In the third quarter of 2021 and going into October, Solane captured a total of 441 counterfeit tanks worth Php 930,400.

In August alone, Solane’s raid operations across Cavite, Camarines Sur, Paranaque, Las Pinas and Albay seized 367 tanks that were either emptied or illegally refilled with unauthorized LPG fuel. Along with the dilapidated cylinders, there were marked money, transaction receipts, and tampered LPG plastic seals confiscated by the authorities.

Following this in September, four raids conducted in Makati, Quezon City, and Isabela captured 63 illegally refilled and distributed tanks along with other items used in unlawful LPG transactions. By the first half of October, two more raids in Taguig confiscated 11 tanks and other illegally sourced paraphernalia.

With the impending enforcement of the LPG law, Solane looks forward to bigger industry efforts eradicating the unlawful trades in the LPG market. However, as illegal and potentially dangerous activity around LPG refilling remains rampant, Solane aspires for consumers’ active awareness in choosing the right LPGs that reach their homes.

To help spread this awareness, Solane reiterates that only the tanks sold by authorized dealers are guaranteed safe and top quality. Verified Solane tanks carry the important markings that certify their registration: the Bureau of Product Standards (BPS) mark that proves the tank passed government standards, the date of the next requalification, as well as the tare weight of an empty cylinder in kilograms which is around 13 to 15 kilos for AS or de salpak and 11.5 to 14 kilos for POL or de roskas. Even with other tanks sharing the same brand elements as its products, Solane reminds the public that if a cylinder misses any of the approved markings or are showing otherwise, then it is most likely sourced from unauthorized distributors, and is not worth risking their safety.

Together with the government and local LPG industry players, make sure you are helping cut the demand for dangerous substandard LPGs. Order your Verified Solane products by sending a message to 0918-887-5555 or 0917-897-7555, or to the Solane Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/solane.ph )
