A Chinese national with multiple stab wounds in the different parts of his body was found dead inside a car parked at the corner of P. Algue and Abad Santos Streets in Tondo, Manila.
The Manila Police District – Police Station 2 stated that at around 6:30 a.m., Victor Corrales, 61 , a member Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), noticed a Toyota Avanza with plate number CBM 4247 parked in the said place. Corrales checked on the vehicle but was surprised to see a man slumped dead on the driver’s seat and full of blood.
The victim was brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy and safekeeping while an investigation is underway to establish the motive behind the killing.
Based on initial investigation by the Manila Police District-homicide section, the victim, identified as Zhaoping Zhang,46, of EPZA, Rosario Cavite, had an altercation with his compatriot, Liu Chow Qin, at around 6:45 a.m. on Narra Street in Tondo.
A witness told the police that before the stabbing, the two were seen having an argument, until the suspect left.
Moments later, the suspect returned already armed with a knife, while the victim was at the driver’s seat of his gray Toyota Avanza.
The suspect went straight to the victim and stabbed him repeatedly. The witness said he shouted at the suspect who stopped but only briefly and then continued stabbing the victim.
The victim managed to drive his car but already lost consciousness upon reaching Algue Street. It was then that Corrales later found the victim dead in his car.
The suspect is now being hunted down by the police.
