KKDK Graduation Highlights Commitment to Mental Health and Family Support at Iligan City Jail–Female Dormitory

The Katatagan, Kalusugan at Damayan sa Komunidad (KKDK) Graduation was successfully held on December 16, 2025, at the Iligan City Jail–Female Dormitory, Tipanoy, Iligan City, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of psychosocial and family-centered programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

A total of six (6) PDL graduates successfully completed the KKDK program, which consists of 18 structured psychosocial modules and 6 family modules, designed to strengthen emotional resilience, improve mental health, and rebuild family relationships. The inclusion of family members in the program underscores the vital role of family support in the rehabilitation and reintegration process.

The graduation ceremony was led by JINSP Krizza Jane C. Bermudo, Jail Warden of Iligan City Jail–Female Dormitory, and facilitated by JO1 Sweet Valerie Danica C. Adiong, the designated KKDK Facilitator.

In her message, JINSP Bermudo emphasized the importance of holistic rehabilitation, stating, “The KKDK program is more than a series of modules—it is a journey of healing, self-discovery, and rebuilding relationships. By strengthening the mental and emotional well-being of our PDLs and involving their families, we are preparing them for a more positive and meaningful reintegration into society.”

One of the PDL graduates shared her personal reflection, saying, “Through KKDK, I learned how to understand my emotions, face my struggles, and reconnect with my family. This program gave me hope and the strength to move forward despite my situation.”
