Lolo, 67, killed by son with bowl

A 67-YEAR-OLD man on Sunday died after his son struck him with a bowl in the head in Alcala, Pangasinan.

MSgt. Glenmore Prado, of the Alcala Police Station, identified the victim as Joselito Fabros, painter, and a resident of Bgy. San Pedro II, Alcala town.

The suspect was Fabros’ son Jeffrey, 32.

Police said the suspect was suffering from mental illness.

The victim and the suspect were having dinner on Sunday when suddenly the two quarreled.

At the height of the argument, Jeffrey grabbed a bowl and smashed it on his father’s head.

The old man fell to the floor and suffered a seizure.

Family members rushed the victim to Urdaneta City General Hospital , where he was declared dead on arrival.

The family told the police that Jeffrey had long been suffering from severe depression.

Jeffrey was brought to the police station and was turned over to the mental hospital. By Jane Eleda
