Baste pinch hits for Sara in Bicol sortie

LUCENA City, Quezon – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will go on a short break this week from campaigning for candidates of Hugpong ng Pagbabago to attend to a family problem.

Mayor Duterte is skipping the campaign trail in Bicol Region and instead assigned younger brother Sebastian Duterte to take her place.

“I have to go home, there is a family issue that I have to address. So I am going home,” she said in ambush interview after her speech endorsing the 13 senatorial candidates of the HNP.
“Baste will take over, my younger brother Sebastian will take over from the Tuesday to Thursday event in Bicol region,” she added.

When asked when she would resume campaigning, she said, “Hindi ako sure kung ilang days  maresolve yung issue sa Davao City. It is a family issue.”

Meanwhile, the HNP founder and chairman clarified that her absence in the Bicol sortie has nothing to do with her latest rift with Vice President Leni Robredo.

Over the weekend the presidential daughter decided to stop assailing the opposition particularly Robredo after her mother Elizabeth Zimmerman told her to stop fighting with other people.

“No no. Definitely not.  Kahapon nag-pack up na ang Inday Sara show, my mother told me to stop it, stop bullying, told me to be kind, before ako magsalita ayusin ko daw muna, kung kind ba ang sinasabi ko o hindi, pag hindi kind wag na daw ako magsalita,” she added.

Mayor Duterte asked Robredo to stop commenting on the issue of honesty because the VP herself is not honest in refusing to address different issues against her.

She even called Robredo a fake Vice President because she was allegedly involved in election cheating.

There are scheduled campaign caravans in Daet, Camarines Norte; Libmanan, Camarines Sur; Pili, Camarines Sur; and Legazpi City, Albay.
