Roque in ‘Magic 12’ in Tangere senatorial survey

UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque would land in the winning circle if elections were held today, according to the latest survey conducted by Tangere and Manila Bulletin.

A former presidential spokesperson, Roque placed 11th with 34.04 percent in the survey conducted from January 26 to 29 this year.

Also included in the “Magic 12” in the survey of senatorial candidates were Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero, broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, Sen. Joel Villanueva, Antique Rep. Loren Legarda, former house speaker Allan Peter Cayetano, former Department of Public Works and Highways Mark Villar, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, former defense secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Sen. Risa Hontiveros and former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Guillermo Eleazar.

During Roque’s short stint at the House of Representatives, 10 of 210 bills he sponsored were signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Roque authored landmark laws on Universal Health Care, HIV and AIDS, free irrigation, and free tertiary education in state colleges and universities.

He also crafted the laws on anti-hazing and free lunch for malnourished children.
