Triker killed, farmer hurt in gun attacks

CABANATUAN CITY — A 34-year-old tricycle driver was shot dead inside his rented apartment by an unidentified man who escaped on board a motorcycle Tuesday night here.

City police head Lt. Col. Arnel M. Dial identified the slain victim as Jomar Del Mundo, of Purok Champaca 1, Bgy. Dicarma, this city.

Investigation showed the victim was inside the bedroom of his apartment when the unidentified suspect shot him before fleeing towards Bgy. Maria Theresa aboard a black motorcycle at 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, a frustrated murder incident occurred in Bgy. San Vicente, Laur at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Lt. Nathaniel Tomas Jr. ,deputy police head, identified the wounded victim as Ken De Guzman, 26, who sustained a gunshot wound in the face after being shot by a neighbor identified as Erwin Francisco, 33, farmer.

Tomas said Francisco barged into the victim’s house while he and his family were eating dinner and fired at him once with a cal. 45 pistol before fleeing.

The suspect was arrested in his house during hot pursuit operations, said Tomas.
