2 holduppers gunned down in Laguna clash

TWO suspected armed holduppers were killed in a gunbattle with agents of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) and the Laguna Police Provincial Office who accosted them in Biñan City on Wednesday morning, a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Debold M. Sinas said yesterday.

Police Regional Office 4-A (PRO4-A) director, Brigadier Gen. Felipe R. Natividad said the two suspects were among the three motorcycle-riding suspects flagged down during the Oplan Sita operation of the Biñan City Police Station SWAT and Regional Highway Unit 4-A long Langkiwa Service Road in Bgy. Langkiwa.

However, the two back riders jumped and fired shots at the operatives triggering the shootout. The motorbike driver managed to flee and is still being hunted as of press time.

The two suspects sustained gunshot wounds in their bodies and were pronounced dead upon arrival in a nearby hospital by an attending physician.

Recovered from the possession of the two slain suspects were two chamber-loaded caliber.45 pistols with two magazines containing several live ammunition.

PNP-HPG director, Brig. Gen. Alexander C. Tagum said that members of the RHPU4-A have joined the hunt for the 3rd suspect who has been considered as ‘armed and dangerous.’
