British Council opens new IELTS on Paper and IELTS on Computer test centres through partnership with CPILS, Roman Canadian Immigration Services, and 9.0 Niners IELTS Review Centre
15 May 2023, Manila – This 2023, the British Council aims to make IELTS more accessible to Filipinos by opening new official test centres in different parts of the country. Through its partnership with the Center for Premier International Language Studies (CPILS), Roman Canadian Immigration Services, and 9.0 Niner IELTS Review Centre, the British Council added five new locations to its expanding roster, with plans to open more in the coming months. The new test centres are conveniently located in Cebu City, Imus, Lipa, Makati, and Manila.
The International English Language Test System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test, recognised by hundreds of global institutions. It is developed by some of the world’s leading experts in language assessment and evaluates all English skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking.
With the recent opening of new locations, the British Council hopes to accommodate more test takers and provide service to a wider community. The centres offer IELTS on Paper and IELTS on Computer, giving options for test takers to choose a medium they are most comfortable with. Paper tests are available 2-3 times a month in Metro Manila, and once a month in other key cities. Meanwhile, computer tests are more flexible and are readily available, with schedules daily.
Cebu City Location
Center for Premier International Language Studies (CPILS) is one of the British Council’s valuable partners, especially during the pandemic, and the only official test centre in Cebu City. Candidates may take all IELTS tests – Regular, UKVI and Life Skills – at the newly refurbished facility at the Mezzanine of CPILS. Paper and computer tests are conducted in well-lighted rooms, with new furniture and excellent sound systems.
Candidates can also take advantage of the IELTS Resource Centre (IRC) at CPILS, open to the public from Monday to Saturday. Candidates preparing to take the test can come and practice using the books at the IRC.
9.0 Niner Locations
Alongside CPILS, the British Council also partnered with the country’s top IELTS Preparation Centre, 9.0 Niner, to offer IELTS on Computer in Manila, Makati, Cavite and Batangas — the first in these areas. Candidates from Cavite and Batangas no longer need to wait for monthly paper tests or to travel to Metro Manila as they can now conveniently schedule their tests with the IELTS Test Centres in Imus, Cavite and Lipa, Batangas.
The IELTS Test Centre in Lipa, Batangas is also ideal for candidates aspiring to go to Canada as the location is also in partnership with Roman Canadian Immigration Services, conveniently located in the same building.
More test centres are scheduled for opening this 2023 under the British Council and 9.0 Niner partnership.
