THE LOCAL government of Malabon formally filed a case against Dito Telecommunity Corporation before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Officd for allegely illegally constructing a cell site within the city.
Engineer Christian Uriarte, of the Malabon City Engineering Office, said the city government has sent a violation notice to Dito, the country’s third telco, twice.
The third violation notice sent to Dito was reportedly not acknowledged by the company.
As per investigation, those charged were arrested by authorities after being caught constructing the Dito cell tower without proper permit in Barangay Tinajeros, Malabon City last December, 2020.
In filing a case against Dito, Uriarte stressed that errant businessmen have no place in Malabon especially if they don’t abide by the city’s rules and regulations.
“Hindi na tama ang ginagawa nilang pambabastos sa LGU kaya tama lang na hulihin at kasuhan sila ng paglabag sa National Building Code of the Philippines,” said Uriarte.
