Angkas group supports Roque for senator

Angkas, a passenger transport and curbside delivery service, has thrown support behind UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque.

Roque praised the motorcycle ride-hailing company during the “Angkas Safety Fiesta” on Sunday, saying it would help boost the tourism and economy of Thailand.

Roque, a former law professor at the UP College of Law, said he has been traveling to Bangkok, where similar riders from companies similar to Angkas abound.

The Tourist Bangkok website said Thailand has a bike taxi service, a common form of public transport in Bangkok, and most other cities, towns, and villages in Thailand. They are generally used for short trips.

Roque said that Angkas would continue their operation after the pandemic if he were elected as Senator.

Kinakailangan, straight UniTeam,” he added.

Meanwhile, Roque, a former presidential spokesperson, reminded the riders that the Duterte administration gave the app the provisional authority to resume its operations.

On a lighter side, Roque granted the request of riders to see him dance. He danced with Angkas chief transport advocate George Royeca after his speech. Over 23,000 riders are registered under Angkas.
