Bulacan druggie killed, 11 jailed

A PROVINCE-WIDE anti-narcotics operation in Bulacan last Sunday led in the killing of an armed drug trafficking suspect following a gunbattle with undercover officers and the arrest of 11 others, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said yesterday.

Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna, said that the 3rd day of their Simultaneous Anti-criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in the province on Saturday resulted in an encounter which killed suspect Marvin John Barrientos, a man whose name is included on the drug watch list of the Pulilan Municipal Police Station.

According to the official, members of the Pulilan Municipal Police Station headed by Lt. Col. Gil Domingo conducted the sting in Barangay Peñabatan at 11:35 p.m. Sunday.

He said that the suspect apparently sensed he was dealing with an undercover officer and pulled out a concealed firearm and began shooting at the poseur while fleeing.

Back-up operatives returned fire killing the suspect who was found in possession of one Armscor caliber .38 revolver with two live ammunition and two spent cartridges, four small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the buy-bust money he received from the poseur.

The suspect’s black Honda TMX motorcycle was also impounded by the Pulilan police.
