Dolor aids ex-rebel in Oriental Mindoro

The Oriental Mindoro provincial government led by Provincial Administrator Hubbert Christopher Dolor, a representative of Governor Bonz Dolor, yesterday welcomed the surrender of a member of the New People’s Army.

The rebel’s surrender is part of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine Army, Philippine National Police (PNP) and local government units (LGUs).

The Oriental Mindoro provincial government provided the rebel returnee with financial assistance worth P65,000. Of this amount, P50,000 is intended as livelihood assistance to help the rebel returnee live a normal life again.

The cash aid was provided by the DILG in colloboratiom with the provincial government.

Dolor thanked Seventh Day Adventist coordinator, Adventist World Radio Southern Asia Pacific Division Pastor Robert B. Dulay for helping convince the former rebel to surrender.

Representatives of the concerned agencies included DILG POC Focal person Marixie Kamille Prudencio, 203rd Infantry Brigade Capt. Ronnie Sarmiento and PSWD Officer Zarah Magboo.
