Estrañero raring to play

AYEL Estrañero is longing to cross paths with her former University of the Philippines teammates on the court.

“Missing them a little extra today. See you soon,” Estrañero posted on her Instagram account yesterday.

In her IG photo, Estrañero had a group hug with fellow Fighting Maroons Isa Molde, Jessma Ramos and Tots Carlos in a shot taken a few years ago.

They are also teammates with PVL club Motolite in 2019.

But this year, Estrañero and her teammates have gone separate ways and they will meet again in the PVL bubble soon, this time as opponents.

Almost on the same afternoon that Estrañero posted the IG photo, Cignal yesterday officially welcomed the Bacolod City native to the team, as the HD Spikers are preparing for their much-awaited PVL debut.

It was not clear what position Estrañero, who played in UP not only as a setter but also as a libero, will she be in Cignal, which on Wednesday formally joined the growing PVL family.

Rachel Anne Daquis will banner the HD Spikers along with Fil-Am playmaker Alohi Robins-Hardy, Fiola Ceballos, Ranya Musa, Roselyn Doria Janine Marciano, May Luna and libero Jheck Dionela.

Definitely, Estrañero is looking forward to play against Molde, who is now with PLDT Home Fibr, Ramos, who is already with Peak Form and Carlos, who moved to Creamline.
