P500K shabu seized in Pampanga, Tarlac

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Almost P500,000 worth of shabu were seized by the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III (PDEA3) in separate anti-drug operations in Mabalacat City, Pampanga and Tarlac City over the weekend.

Joint operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Pampanga PPO, Provincial Intelligence Unit and Mabalacat SDEU conducted anti-illegal drug entrapment operations in Bgy. Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga which resulted in the arrest of Jerald Balani aka “Mico”, a high value individual and resident of Bgy. Cutcut, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Confiscated from the suspect were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu approximately weighing 55 grams with an estimated street value of P374,000, a weighing scale and the P1,000 marked money.

PRO3 Regional Director Valerian De Leon said Central Luzon cops will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs within the region while re-invigorating its anti-criminality campaigns at the same time.

In Bgy. Matatalaib, Tarlac City, a drug den was raided by operative of PDEA-3, the Tarlac Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Tarlac City Police Station which led to the arrest of five drug suspects and seizure of some P102,000 worth of shabu.

PDEA Central Luzon Chief Christian O Frivaldo identified the arrested suspects as Leonora Nuqui, a targetlisted person; Priscila David, watchlisted; Bienvenido Nuqui, watchlisted; Jayson Nuqui; and Jose Esguerra Jr.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165.

Meanwhile, police were able to arrest a man engaged in illegal firearms trade after trying to sell an unlicensed gun to a lawman in San Fernando City, Pampanga also over the weekend.

Suspects Rogelio Oserin and his companion initially eluded arrest after engaging lawmen in a firefight in Bacolor but a tip from a concerned citizen led police to his residence in Bgy. Quebiawan, San Fernando.

The suspect, who was wounded in the right foot during the armed encounter, was arrested.

Confiscated from him were a hand grenade, .38 caliber revolver with two live ammunition and four fired cartridges.

Oserin is facing charges for violation of RA 10591.
