A WOMAN on Thursday night was killed while another was injured in an ambush in front of a school in Binan City, Laguna.
Binan City Police Station chief Lt. Col. Giovanni Martinez identified the fatality as Ernee Grace Marie Uberas Cabisag.
The injured was Cabisag’s companion, Honey Lee Ronomeron Algara.
Cabisag was driving a Nissan Navara pick-up truck, with Algara as her passenger, when they were attacked by gunmen at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday.
The two were traveling on the national highway of Binan when upon reaching Sto. Tomas Elementary School in Bgy. Sto.Tomas, armed men on another vehicle blocked their path.
The suspects shot the victims repeatedly before fleeing towards Carmona, Cavite.
Witnesses rushed the victims to Carmona Hospital and Medical Center, where Cabisig was declared dead on arrival.
Algara is in stable condition.
Authorities are pursuing the suspects and investigating the motive for the gun attack. by JANE ELEDA
