2 Chinese men, Pinoy killed in Taguig ambush

THREE men, including two Chinese nationals, were killed while two of their female minor companions were seriously injured when four unidentified armed men peppered them with bullets in an ambush yesterday afternoon in Taguig City.

In a sketchy report received by the office of Southern Police Disrrict (SPD) Director P/Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan, the two Chinese nationals and their driver were declared dead by their attending physician Dr. Rufino Pascual upon arrival at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital.

They were identified as Ninjie Zhang, 42, one alias “Kauyu”, both residents of Barangay Bagong Silang, Caloocan city and their Filipino driver, identified only as certain “Noel,” a resident of Cavite.

The two injured minor victims who were both Filipino citizens were identified as Hazel Sang, 12-year-old and her younger sister Crystal, 5, who were both under observation at the same hospital due to bullet wounds in their bodies.

The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. in front of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) along Gen. Santos Avenue, Bgy. Upper Bicutan which is a few blocks away from the headquarters of National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) in Camp Bagong Diwa.

The victims were on board a blue car when four men blocked their path along Gen. Santos Avenue and shot them repeatedly, killing the three victims and injuring the two girls who were sitting at the back of the driver’s seat.

Police are still conducting investigation while a follow-up operation was still ongoing for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
