2 die in Batangas mishap

A MOTORCYCLE driver and his back rider were killed when their vehicle landed in an open drainage Saturday morning in Bgy. Tabangao Ambulong, Batangas City.

The fatalities were identified by Batangas City police, PSSg Joseph Sulit as Marlon Ubaldo, 30, married, resident of Bgy. Labac, Cuenca, and his back rider Paul Mathew Castillo, 33, single, resident of Bgy. Pinagkrusan, Alitagtag, Batangas.

Both fatalities were instrumentation technicians.

Initial investigation showed around 8 p.m., April 9 a Honda TMX bearing a temporary plate with number 0401-01101070 driven by Ubaldo along with his back rider was traveling along the national road in Bgy. Tabangao Ambulong towards Batangas City when the driver lost control of the steering handle, thereby causing the motorcycle to swerve to the left and fall into an open canal.

The victims were declared dead on arrival at the Batangas Medical Center by attending physician Dra. Trina Regalado.
