5 minute clash left 1 NPA killed in Sultan Kudarat

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao – A member of the communist terrorist group (CTG) was killed in an encounter with the elements of the 57th Infantry (MASIKAP) Battalion in Tibuhol, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat around 4:45 afternoon of July 10, 2022.

According to Lt. Col. Guillermo Mabute Jr., Commanding Officer of 57th IB his troops conducted combat clearing operations when encountered more or less five (5) CTGs that resulted in about five (5) minutes of firefight however, they could not withstand the military force, so they withdraw in the unknown location.

Killed Sultan Kudarat NPA“The troops were scouring the encounter site, they discovered one (1) dead Body Count; One (1) Garand Rifle; one (1) sling bag; and four (4) clips with 28 rounds of live ammunition”, Colonel Michael Santos, 603rd Brigade Commander.

The cadaver of slain CTG member was fetch by operating troops to nearby Barangay Napnapon and turned it over to Barangay Chairman Bregido Lawas and later found out the said cadaver was not a resident of the said place yet its identity is still unknown.

The barangay chairman turned-over the cadaver to Palimbang Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Major General Roberto Capulong, 6ID Commander said “our troops are continuously conducting hot pursuit operations against the fleeing members. With the series of engagements, we are certain that most of the terrorists incurred gunshot wounds as evident on the bloodstains in the area. We will find, fix and neutralize the remaining fleeing terrorists”, he said.

The relentless campaign of 6ID against the CTGs have left a remarkable remarks wherein 85 have successfully return to the mainstream society while six (6) were neutralize.
