Batangas PNP bares contingency plans in case of Taal Volcano eruption

CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — The Batangas PNP under the leadership of Provincial Director PCol. Rex Arvin T. Malimban has bared contingency plans in case Taal volcano erupts.

This was revealed by provincial police PIO chief Police Police Lieutenant Mary Anne DV Espina.

Each police station has drawn up an evacuation plan where designated “pick-up points” and “designated evacuation centers” will be located in each barangay, municipality, and city in Batangas.

The Agoncillo, Laurel, and Talisay Municipal Police Stations also received three electrical generators in case of disaster.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the plans, the Batangas PPO conducted a simulation exercise with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 4A, 1st and 2nd Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company (BPMFC), and Batangas Provincial and Local DRRMC in Talisay,Batangas.

Our police aim to properly lay out the evacuation plan for the affected residents. These plans include the evacuation of evacuees to their designated evacuation centers and the installation of road lockings in areas entering the 14-kilometer danger zone. Our police continue to work together with other government agencies to ensure the safety of everyone, especially since we are still in the midst of a pandemic. We encourage everyone to be prepared, alert, and open to communication with the authorities,” said Malimban.
